Worked for 4 years as a remediation instructor at The Rehabilitation Institute. Serviced students aged 15-21 with disabilities in the following areas: Reading, Writing, Life Skills Math, Job Skills, GED prep, RCT prep, and Learner's Permit Prep. Previously worked as a reading tutor for a 3rd grader with ADHD. Previously worked as a personal assistant for H.S. individual with quadriplegic Cerebral Palsey. Assisted with daily activities, including homework. For the past 5 years have been working as a NYC Special Education teacher in a 12:1:1 H.S. setting. Although I am currently teaching, I have a passion for information exchange and ideas. In my view, the tutor is the original teacher. In a 1:1 tutoring session, the pupil is able to receive direct instruction that is uniquely tailored for him/her, without the distraction of bureaucracy and the formality of mainstream education.
